THE SCHOOL

Belagavi is situated near the foothills of the Sahyadri mountain range in the Western Ghats at an altitude of 779m. The city is known for its pleasant climate year-round and has even experienced a hailstorm in April. Because of its strategic location near Goa, and its salubrious climate, the British chose it as a key cantonment.

The Indus Altum International School is situated on a 17-acre campus at Kakati Hobli, Belagavi, the second capital of Karnataka. Indus Altum International School is ideated on a collaborative partnership between Indus International Schools and Altum Trust based on the ethos of ‘In Omnia Paratus - Prepared for All Challenges’. Preparing the young generation for an unforeseen future, where volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity would be the main characteristics is the purpose of education at Indus Schools. The accelerating rate of obsolescence and digital transformation reiterates the significance of inculcating the most important competency in them- startup readiness i.e., future readiness. The Purpose of Education at Indus Altum International School, Belagavi is to prepare the students to be startup ready. The students would be lifelong learners who would discover their purpose and meaning of life and consistently learn, unlearn, and relearn.

Meanwhile, Altum Trust makes Indus Altum International School distinct and unique, backing it up with a strong vision of bringing quality international education to the city of Belagavi, thereby transforming the definition of education in northern Karnataka and extending it to all – in and outside India. The Chairperson of the trust Mrs. Mai Melligeri has always dreamt of bringing in a new definition of education at Belagavi to transform the city’s outlook and what it can offer to the world. The Board members of the school are Mr. Aravind Melligeri, the Chairman and CEO of Aequs Inc., who believes in the essence of an entrepreneurial mindset, and Mr. Rajeev Kaul, the MD, and CEO of Aequs Aerospace, who is a distinguished business strategist himself.

IAIS nurtures the right environment for young leaders to grow, be creative, culturally sensitive, yet international-minded. The school is a dream come true for the parents of northern Karnataka who in the past, sought quality international education and boarding facilities for their wards in far-off metropolitan cities like Bangalore and Mumbai. IAIS is affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), UK, and gives the essence of an international flavor nurturing the young minds to think globally and act locally. The teachers recruited from all over India are Cambridge trained and qualified and believe in teaching the child and not the subject alone.
